Futurism

Futurism is an avant-garde movement founded in 1909 by an Italian poet known as Filipino Marinetti. It is an art movement that focuses on the power and vitality of the machine and modern life. These art expressions usually revolved around painting or sculpture. The art style is when contemporary things in the world are stylised through photography to have a futuristic feel to them. For example, the shots would be long exposure, so that light trails in the image give the photo a futuristic touch, whilst being only a camera technique. Futurist photographers also make use of lines very frequently, for example, they would use more modern appearing buildings with flat lines.

Assignment 3 : Still Life

This is a still life photo that interests me as it uses the repetition of objects on a wood background to create a nice photo. The best ways to light still life is by using LED lights in a reflective case, or a reflective light box to light the objects you need to. This is a 3 point lighting setup with lights every visible side. This makes the colour of the object work very well and its able to be focused on.
