Pin Hole Camera Photography

Pin Hole cameras are small holes in light limiting boxes that can let a certain amount of light into the box onto some photo paper, which reacts to light. This means that photos taken in pinhole cameras can add nice effects, as they have long exposure times. Any movement in the photo will create a blurry effect, which makes car lights at night interesting. This also means that you can use light to your advantage, setting the camera up in a low light place will create an interesting photo as light moves around in the area. To create a pinhole camera, it is very simple. All you need is a black, dark box. This box must not let any light into it at all, and must be completely black on the inside to prevent light spill/ This box will have a hole for the pinhole, and a lens slider to open the hole. Then you need to cut a square from a can, and poke a pinhole through it. Then you can stick that into the hole in the box, and slide some photo paper at the back of the box which will reflect the ...

Making a Photogram

Image
Photogram paper is sensitive to light. This means that when you place things onto the paper, with a light over the paper, they can create images using the shapes and objects that you have placed on the paper to create an interesting and surreal image. These images are created by placing photos in revealing chemicals and bond chemicals to form the photos. This means that you can create cool patterns by using semi translucent and opaque materials to add layering. Chemicals -  Development chemicals consist of hydroquinone These are some of Man Ray's Photograms.

Expressionism

Image
This piece is inspired by   And uses the black and white colours with a warm glow from the doorway to create an expressionistic feel. This example is also based widely from many of the expressionist photography examples Expressionism is the art form which distorts reality, making a relatively normal image appear odd to a normal eye. This art from has been used for hundreds of years and is used to entail many different meanings. The art from is mostly used to show emotion, as it is a lot more messy and clumsy than most normal art forms. The expressionism art form is inspired by the feelings of emotion that follow them. This means artists will be more rough with their art styles and the idea of perfection is completely lost. This is when everything that comes to mine is created by freehand.

Assignment 3 : Still Life

Image
This is a still life photo that interests me as it uses the repetition of objects on a wood background to create a nice photo. The best ways to light still life is by using LED lights in a reflective case, or a reflective light box to light the objects you need to. This is a 3 point lighting setup with lights every visible side. This makes the colour of the object work very well and its able to be focused on. Still life lighting system, to light every direction of the object you want

Cubsim

These are my joiner photos, where I have used close ups and different angles to created the skewed and distorted image. This means that there are several focusing points in an image   Artist chosen - David Hockney. Artist piece - this is a joiner photo by David which takes place in a street. He used a range of photos from different image to create a normal image that is extremely distorted. This is an arrangement of photos which makes it useful to replicate in photography as it is the same premise.  Hockney uses these images in a joined way to make the image look interesting, using different angles of an object to create a full image that resembles a real life object, but in a surreal way. I will use a certain street or building/place, take many photos around in different angles and distances and joining them together to create an image that can be identified.

Assignment 2 - Effect of Aperture on Objects and Composition

Image
Aperture Aperture is the amount of light that is let into the camera lens. The large the f/ value is, the less light is let in. This means that f/2 lets more light in than f/32. This means that when you focus on closer objects, a larger f/ value means that you will focus on the foreground and the background, and the smaller the value, the background will be extremely blurred. This photo is taken with an f/18 aperture. Which is a mid point aperture. This means that the foreground here is slightly blurred, but still has distinguishable lines. This photo was taken with an f/32 aperture. This means that the camera is taking in minimal light, meaning that it is focusing on everything in the image, making the foreground fully distinguishable. This photo was taken at the aperture of f/2. This means that the photo is taking all the light in that is possible, and using it to focus on the two minivans, and completely obscuring the foreground with no focus at all, or minimal. This means that the ...
